Objectives and Scope
The objective of this course is to build systems mapping skills and capabilities to depict systems study in visual form. Systems mapping is a convenient presentation tool and a conversation starter while depicting one’s visual understanding of the problem at hand. Visualisation saves reams of text and brings home messages easily and swiftly.
The course introduces the participant to the basics of mapping, the various software options available and the different types of maps one can construct. Additionally, the course will impart visualisation skills using Plectica, a mapping tool; it will provide practical demonstrations and give all participants a chance to undertake a group mapping or individual mapping exercise
Approach
This course is offered live, online and across two sessions, a week apart. The first session covers the basics of mapping and the imparting of mapping skills. Each participant is required to undertake a practical mapping exercise between the first and second sessions either individually or by teaming up with a fellow participant(s) on a theme which is specific to the participant’s interests. The second session is a review of participants’ output with the aim of refining mapping skills.

This masterclass is designed for a heterogeneous audience across the globe and is relevant for anyone who wishes to upskill and acquire systems mapping capabilities. It is equally relevant for social sector professionals, community workers, corporate sector executives, policy makers, independent professionals, householders, artists and students.

Prior participation in Course 101 or 102 or 103 is recommended but not a pre-requisite. However, a basic exposure to or an understanding of systems thinking is required.

The pricing for this masterclass is variable and registrants can choose between one of three options.
